Stoke Directory

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2 September 2026

Stoke Directory ("we", "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect and how we use it.

Data we collect

How we use your data

We use submitted data to review and manage listings, respond to enquiries and improve the directory. We may contact a limited company or other corporate business using a public business contact address to tell it about its directory listing and the free claim process. Our lawful basis for this targeted corporate outreach is our legitimate interest in maintaining accurate listings and growing the directory.

When you send a customer enquiry, we use your consent to share the details with the business you selected so it can respond. If that listing has not yet been verified by its owner, we hold the request for manual review instead of sending personal details to an unverified address. We retain enquiry records only for as long as needed to route the request, measure the service and deal with any follow-up or legal obligation.

We do not sell personal data. We do not cold-email sole traders or ordinary partnerships without consent. Every business outreach message identifies Stoke Directory and explains how to opt out. If you object, we stop the marketing and retain only the minimum suppression record needed to honour that request.

Your rights

You can ask for access, correction or deletion of personal data and can object to direct marketing at any time. Email us with “opt out” in the subject and we will suppress the address from future outreach.
